Adoption of KC 62368-1 (harmonized with IEC62368-1 :2018 (Edition3.0)) 

KATS has officially published the long-awaited standard KC 62368-1 (IEC 62368-1 ED 3.0, 2018). 

The new standard and current standards, such as KC 60065, K 60950-1, and K 60950-22, will be used in parallel until 31 December 2022. From January 2023, KATS will only accept KC 62368-1 (based on IEC 62368-1:2018 (3rd)).

After that, only KC 62368-1 shall apply to Audio/Video, information, and communication technology equipment.

As we know from prior cases, Korea allows grandfathering, which means a certificate is valid as long as there are no changes to the product.
