Radio Equipment Directive – Expanding Accreditation Scope for Cybersecurity

03. April 2025

SIQ Ljubljana, a Notified Body for multiple EU directives, including the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU, has successfully expanded its accreditation scope. This expansion includes compliance with Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30, which supplements RED by introducing essential cybersecurity requirements under Article 3(3), points (d), (e), and (f).

As of early March 2025, this update has been reflected in the NANDO database, ensuring SIQ Ljubljana’s official recognition for assessing these cybersecurity requirements. These regulations will become mandatory for manufacturers on August 1, 2025.

In addition, SIQ Ljubljana has successfully passed an accreditation assessment under EN 17025 for the newly developed and recently harmonised EN 18031-1, EN 18031-2, and EN 18031-3 standards. Manufacturers can now request testing according to these standards, in conjunction with EN 303 645, to meet compliance requirements not only within the EU but also in other global markets.
