Pulse Parameter Measurements for Nerve and Muscle Stimulators According to IEC 60601-2-10
Measurements of pulse parameters are part of the IEC 60601-2-10 standard, which addresses the basic safety and essential performance of nerve and muscle stimulators. The test requires measuring the output signals of the stimulators, which must be within +/- 20% of the specified output provided by the manufacturer. The test is performed with the output load/impedance specified in the accompanying documents provided by the manufacturer. During the measurements, the following parameters are checked:
- Pulse duration
- Pulse repetition frequencies
- Amplitudes
This includes any DC component, whether caused by an offset or by an asymmetrical waveform. All these parameters must be specified in the accompanying documents provided by the manufacturer.
The purpose of the test is to ensure the values meet the specifications provided by the manufacturer.
SIQ can support you with any type of nerve or muscle stimulator. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or enquiries.
