The 8th SIQ SAFETY & EMC International Training Seminar

The 8th SIQ SAFETY & EMC International Training Seminar took place on May 28th and 29th at the beautiful Brdo Estate with 130 participants from 17 countries.

The event brought together experts and professionals from diverse industries to discuss the latest trends and challenges in safety and electromagnetic compatibility.

The seminar kicked off with a comprehensive program on the first day, covering a wide array of topics, such as an overview of international approvals, legal compliance for the US and Canadian markets, IoT cybersecurity, and product compliance in Europe. The attendees also navigated through the latest EU regulation updates and delved into the EMC challenges in designing compliant electronics. The esteemed guest speakers included Ms. Madison Hoppess from MET, Mr. Marko Jankovec, a professor from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana, and Olympic medalist Ms. Sara Isaković, who shared her insights and experiences.

On the second day, the participants were divided into focused groups according to their product interests: IT, audio & video devices and gaming devices, medical and measuring equipment, and household appliances and tools. Each group explored the latest developments and standards pertinent to their specific industry. The day featured presentations from SIQ professionals as well as guest lecturers Ms. Marjetka Kunčič Kralj from Timian, Mr. Danilo Kraner, Chair of CENELEC TC 61, and Mr. Tomo Koželjnik from Würth Elektronik, who provided valuable insights and updates on industry standards and requirements.
